Brief outline of the RSQM

The RJC's RSQM is a quality mark for restorative services who can demonstrate they meet the Restorative Service Standards. Each standard contains indicators against which performance can be measured. The standards will be used by the RJC to assess the quality of service delivery.

We recognise the wide variety of agencies which deliver a restorative service, and value local diversity, ownership and delivery models. Our assessors are carefully trained to weigh and balance different kinds of evidence, to respect the diversity of delivery approaches to meeting the standards, and will support organisations to evidence their good work, and be fair in assessment.

You can use the online health check tool to gauge how close you already are to RSQM standards. If required, you can access support and consultancy to help develop your service to the required standard by contacting the RJC team at rsqm@restorativejustice.org.uk.

When you are ready, independent external assessors trained by the RJC will assess your evidence and provide a fair and balanced judgement about performance, measured against the Restorative Service Standards, to determine whether your agency meets the standards and should hold the RSQM.

Achieving the RSQM means that you have been externally accredited against the Restorative Service Standards. You will receive the RSQM logo and certificate to help you promote and celebrate your achievement, as well as receiving a range of wider benefits. The RSQM is valid for three years.
